…or find out more:

Why should you work with me?

Well, there are lots of good reasons to hire me as your new webmaster. Three of the most frequent ones I hear from my clients are:

  1. I’m incredibly good at what I do. I bring more than ten years’ experience designing and providing web solutions for my clients. Drawing on that experience, I identify what you need and how to best—and most affordably—accomplish your goals. My job isn’t to design your web site; my job is to design creative solutions to maximize your web presence.
  2. While it’s true that I am the primary workhorse at DragonCalledK, I do also work with a close-knit team of designers and coders—most of whom have worked together for more than ten years. We work really well together, and I bring that same synergy and positive attitude to my clients. This allows me to provide a more personal touch to my clients’ projects. I treat my clients like royalty, no matter the size of their budget.
  3. My clients tell me all the time that they enjoy working with me because I “provide agency-quality work at a freelance cost” (their words, not mine—I promise!). Some of my projects are featured here.

But enough about me.
Let’s talk about what I can do for you!

Sites for Not-for-Profit Organizations

No matter your cause—charity, education, the arts—one key asset to fundraising is to make the donation process as painless as possible. By accepting donations online, your supporters can send their donations anytime, anywhere—from their living room, office, or via mobile phone while sitting in traffic.

But it’s about more than just offering your supporters the convenience of donating when and where they want; it’s also about offering them the ability to donate how they want. Oftentimes, supporters would like to donate a larger amount than they can afford when they make their initial donation. What if your supporters had the option, at the time of their initial gift, to schedule a donation for the full amount they’d like to donate, automatically split into monthly payments over a course of time they decide? No calculations or forgotten donations, no hassle; it just works. Simple. Automatic. Convenient. Safe.

I build  and deliver sites which are tailored to your organization’s specific needs. That means your site will do anything you want it to. And while your site can do just about anything you want it to, there are probably only a few things you really need it to do.

Some key features I offer (both in full-site packages and as individual enhancements to your existing site):

One-time and split-payment donations. Accept donations online, allowing your supporters to make a one-time donation or schedule multiple payments to occur over a period of time. All donations are secure and safe, thanks to IATS payment processing. Collect vital data from your donors before they make a transaction; pair their gift with vital data of your choosing (child/student info, school info, spouse info, etc.). Then, save time and money by integrating the entire donor record—complete with donor information and transaction info—into Raiser’s Edge and other software.
Powerful, extensible content-management system. Empowering your site with content management benefits you in several ways. For starters, it means you can update the content on your website as often as you like—every week, every day, or every hour! Manage your content yourself visually with no working knowledge of HTML or web programming—if you know how to use a word processor, you know how to edit your web site. Or have it professionally managed (either by myself or another developer) inexpensively. Either way, you have more control and fewer costs while keeping your site content up-to-date.
RSVP, registration, ticket sales. Easily organize events or classes by processing registrations and registration fees online. Import online payments and registrations into your existing event management system, saving you money on printing costs and data entry. You can even host an ongoing auction directly on your website—just like eBay.
Social networking. Another key asset to fundraising is communication. With social networking, connecting with your supporters has never been easier. Your website can be built with tie-ins to popular social networking sites, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr, and more, putting you in touch with more people than ever before. It also lets your supporters spread the word about your campaign with a single click, putting your message in front of potential supporters you might otherwise never have reached.
RSS, email subscriptions, and more. Keep your visitors informed about new site content as it’s posted. Allow visitors to subscribe to newsletters, announcements, RSS feeds and more. Letting people know when you’ve posted something new on your site increases traffic; increased traffic means increased donations.

Other available features include: Online volunteer sign up, security verification, video and slideshow integration, and more.

How much will this cost?

Good news: Building a fancy web site costs a lot less than you might think. With several packages to choose from, at a variety of price points, chances are I can deliver an fantastic site for you while staying within your budget.

All of my sites include content management features that facilitate quick and easy (and free!) updates to your site as often as you like. Each package also includes custom design and cutting edge technologies—HTML5, jQuery, and CSS3—with backwards compatibility to maximize your visitors’ experience regardless of their browsing platform.

The smallest, least expensive package, the Gecko site is perfect for individuals and home or small businesses.

A midsize site, the Iguana package is just right for small organizations and businesses who need a stronger web presence, e-commerce capabilities. or the ability to accept donations online.

The whole kit-and-kaboodle! The Komodo package is for organizations and businesses who require a robust web presence which integrates online donations/e-commerce and community capabilities (newsletter, forums, member/customer area, etc.) into their site.

Non-Profit Organizations are eligible for a 10% discount on this package! Inquire for more information.

While all of my sites are built specifically for each client’s needs, sometimes a client’s needs go beyond the norm. In these cases, you may need specialized programming, or a proprietary link between your site and certain in-house systems you are already using (in-house fundraising, inventory, or customer databases for example). The Chameleon package blends in to your current environment to meet these needs.

If you have some ideas about your project (or even if you don’t), we should probably talk.
